LEAGUE RULES

Short version: you write rules, the engine follows them with a virtual portfolio for five US trading sessions, the best final value wins. No real trades are placed. The AI helps you write rules and writes commentary. It never picks a stock.

THE RACE

  • Every pilot starts with $10,000.00 of virtual cash. It is a score. It cannot be withdrawn and it is never shown next to a prize as if they were the same thing.
  • The full list is AAPL, AMZN, COIN, GOOGL, META, MSFT, NVDA and TSLA. A stock with a dividend, split or other corporate action inside a season's price window is left out of that season before anyone enters, so the season you join may run on fewer. Long only. No leverage, no shorting, no options, no fractions of a cent.
  • A season is five consecutive US trading sessions. Weekends, market holidays and early closes follow the exchange calendar fixed in the season manifest.
  • One pilot per wallet per season. Registration closes 60 minutes before the first open. After you join, your rules cannot be edited, replaced or withdrawn.
  • Owning a machine gives no score advantage of any kind.

WHAT A PILOT CAN BE TOLD

Strategy v1
  • Direction: Momentum (buy what rose) or Contrarian (buy what fell).
  • Lookback: 5 or 10 sessions of closing prices.
  • Most stocks held at once: 1, 2 or 3.
  • Cash kept aside: 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% or 50%.
  • Most in one stock: 25%, 50% or 100%.
  • Which of the eight stocks the pilot may buy.

That is the whole language. Anything else you write (stop-losses, news, indicators) is listed back to you as unsupported instead of being quietly dropped.

EACH SESSION, EXACTLY

  1. SignalFor every allowed stock: the previous session's close against the close 5 or 10 sessions before that. Nothing from the session itself is used. Momentum keeps the risers, Contrarian keeps the fallers, strongest move first, ties broken by ticker in A to Z order.
  2. Lock30 minutes before the open, every pilot's picks are computed, hashed, signed by the operator key and stored. They cannot change after that.
  3. Trade at the openEverything held is sold at the day's opening price from the season's data feed, then the picks are bought at the same price. Each pick gets the smaller of (100% minus cash reserve) divided by the number of picks, and the per-stock cap. Both the sale and the purchase pay 10 bps (0.10%). Yes, a holding that does not change still pays the fee. That is the published cost of this simple model.
  4. Mark at the closeThe portfolio is valued at the feed's closing price for the day. After the fifth close everything is sold, fee included. That final cash figure is the score.

All arithmetic is whole numbers: dollars in millionths, shares in hundred-millionths, every rounding goes against the pilot. Two people running the published engine on the same prices get the same last digit.

Where prices come from: the open and close of the daily bar published by the data provider named on each season page. A daily bar is built from eligible trades on that feed. It is not the exchange's official auction print, and a single-venue feed (IEX) can differ from the consolidated tape (SIP) by a few cents. Everyone in a season is scored on the same bars.

Returns are price returns. Dividends are ignored. Prices are unadjusted. If a stock opens more than 40% away from its previous close (what a split looks like), or has no official open or close within 24 hours, the season cancels itself rather than being patched by hand. Corporate actions come from the data provider's own feed: a symbol with one inside the season's price window is excluded before registration, and one that appears mid-season stops the season and refunds it. If that feed stops answering the season waits, and cancels after 24 hours rather than guessing.

RANKING AND RESULT

  • Rank is by final virtual cash, highest first. Equal values share a rank. Nothing else breaks a tie: not join time, not wallet, not machines.
  • The leaderboard during the race is labelled as not final. A result is proposed only when all five sessions have complete data.
  • A proposed result is provisional for a review window (48 hours in a full season) and is not official until it is final. Anyone can download the replay file and recompute it. Anyone signed in can file a public challenge. A challenge does not stop the clock by itself. The operator can put a result on hold with a public reason, and releasing the hold restarts the full window. If a challenge is accepted the result is withdrawn and the season is cancelled: this version has no way to correct a result.
  • If prices for a session are still missing 24 hours after its close, or the season cannot be made final within 10 days of the last close, it is cancelled. A cancelled season has no winner.

WHAT YOU ARE TRUSTING

Read this one
  • The operator (the Stock Miners team) runs the server, fetches prices from a licensed data provider, signs the decision locks and proposes the result. Stock prices are not on chain. This is a game run by an operator with a public audit trail. It is not a trustless system.
  • What stops a quiet change: strategies are hash-committed before registration closes, decisions are hashed and signed before each open, the price snapshots are archived, and the replay checker recomputes everything from them.
  • What it does not stop: a wrong price from the provider, the operator cancelling a season, or the operator rejecting a fair challenge. Those would be visible, not impossible.
  • One wallet, one pilot does not mean one person, one pilot. There is no identity check in a free season.
